Victory Speech

I am honored and humbled by the mandate I have received For the first in the history of Nigeria. We 'ill have an elected President Followed by another elected President so many brave Nigerian including my own brother lived and died to give us this democracy. I will do all I can to honour their scarifies.

The time for politics is over. The time for reconciliation has begun. The part of division is behind us. The part of unity lies ahead. The hurt is over. Let the healing Begin.

Many of you knew little about me when we begun this journey together. But now that we are about to embark on a much longer journey allow me to re-introduce myself. I Love Nigeria . I love our people and our promise and our democracy. I will not allow anyone to drag us back into the dark days of the past.

My Commitment is to reform and reconciliation. I want Nigeria to generate more jobs and more electricity. To accomplish all this will require consensus. It will require community. It will require humanity. And it will require all Nigerian to come together.

I want to say a special word to General Buhari, Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and all the other candidate that contested in this election. You may have once been my adversaries but you will never be my enemies. I urge you to join me in a call for calm , a call for community, a call for kinship.

Together let us turn away from those who seek to extend the season of division. Let the past remain in the past. Let patriotism win over politics. I am prepared to move into the bright sunlight of a new day for Nigeria.

In my presidency there will be no division between North and South. There will be no division between Christians and Muslims. There will be no division between PDP and ANPP and AC and all the rest. There will only be Nigeria. One Nation. One people. One future. One destiny.

The ties that bind us together have indeed been frayed. But they are strong, and so are we, by the grace of God we will restore those ties, heal the branch, and emerge stronger and more united than ever before.

Thank you.
